Display

The display of Honor 4C has good brightness, contrast ratio and color accuracy. The viewing angles are comfortable and the light it emits doesn’t flicker. The resolution could be better, but it is good enough to facilitate lack of pixel distinction when reading from natural distances.

Sound

Honor 4C offers mediocre sound quality. Its power wasn’t enough to create an amplitude-frequency response.

Battery

Honor 4C has a 2550 mAh battery. That doesn’t sound bad for a 5-inch HD smartphone whose processor works with Cortex-A53 cores, known for their low energy consumption. At least we have some good prerequisites to expect decent (to say the least) results in our tests, which once again include a phone call, Wi-Fi and 3G surfing, video playback and 3D gaming. Of course, the settings are the same – brightness: 120cd/m2, Wi-Fi module: On, Bluetooth, GPS, 3G: Off

Software

It turns out that this section is the most substantial one. Although we’re reviewing a mid-range smartphone, Huawei has tried to equip it with as much functionality as they could, so you shouldn’t be bothered by the Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS bundled here.
Now huawe has released two major updates for the huawei honor 4c
  1. Android 5.1.1 lollipop
  2. Android 6.0.0 Marshmellow
All updates were given via OTA and the updates were pretty stable with huaweis new versions of EMUI.

Processor

cpu
source: laptopmedia
Honor 4C uses a processor by Huawei – HiSilicon Kirin 620 – 64-bit, built through a 28nm manufacturing process. It features 8 Cortex-A53 cores operating at 1.2 GHz. They’re said to be extremely energy efficient. According to Huawei, their CPU is a competitor of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 610 and the 64-bit processors of MediaTek. You can see Kirin 620’s results, compared to other competitor models on the graph below. The SoC includes a Mali-450MP4 GPU and 2GB of RAM. Those specifications sound promising, especially for the given price range. There’s only 8GB of internal storage, which is a common practice even in more expensive models, but fortunately, there is an available microSD slot for an additional memory card.

Gaming capabilities

Traditionally, we test the devices with some of the most demanding games from Google play. The challenges Honor 4C faced were Modern Combat 5 and Real Racing 3. We didn’t experience any serious lag interfering with gameplay, which is sufficient for a positive evaluation for this price range. All games were played without any major issue.
Camera
Honor 4C’s camera is good. The photos are clear and detailed with sufficiently accurate colors. The amount of manual settings is enough for the given price range.

One thing to notice that the device don't support stereo sound recording when shooting videos even it has two microphones as well as the stereo recording feature.

Custom ROMs for Honor 4C

Currently honor 4C dont have any custom roms becuase Huawei has not released the source code for their new Kirin 650 SoC. There are lot of links in .xyz domain saying that there are ROMs to honor 4C in their sites. But all of them are spams. Also always remind that if there are any custom ROMs 99% of them are going to publish on XDA site. You can check some honor 4c threads in XDA by clicking here

Customizing EMUI

Instead of using custom ROMs , you can change the device apearance completely by using themes. Huawei supports themes and there are many themes from xda developers to donload. Use following links,
