How to select a smartphone with a good camera

Today the smartphone world growing rapidly. Many manufacturers release their products with affordable price tags. And also with different qualities. One of the main thing to consider when it comes to a smartphone is that it’s camera.
Some people have a misunderstand that a better camera means a better pixel amount. This statement is baseless. Of course with a good amount of pixels can capture more details but the overall quality do not rely only on that feature.

So today techmagister guide you to find a smartphone with a better camera.
Main Camera

Today almost every phone has at least 8MP main camera. So that is enough Pixel amount to take good photos. But you have to consider few more specs too.

  • Aperture

Aperture refers to the opening of a lens's diaphragm through which light passes. It is calibrated in f/stops and is generally written as numbers such as 1.4, 2, 2.8, 4, 5.6, 8, 11 and 16. A smaller f-stop means a larger aperture, while a larger f-stop means a smaller aperture. Most people find this awkward, since we are used to having larger numbers represent larger values, but not in this case. For example, f/1.4 is larger than f/2.0 and much larger than f/8.0.

  • Auto focus mode

Auto focus simply focus on the objects front of the camera automatically. There are two types of autofocus modes:
  • Phase detection auto focus :PDAF

Phase detection auto focus splits the image into two 'copies', then adjusts the lens elements until the two images 'merge', ie until they're in phase. Its main advantage is speed.

  • Laser auto focus: LAF

The camera unit of these phones is equipped with a laser transmitter and receiver. The phone will basically emit an infrared laser, which bounces off the subject and returns to the receiver. The receiver notes down the time taken by the laser to return. The speed of the laser is constant. Speed is distance divided by time. And with quick, simple math, the camera knows the distance to the subject. Just like that, the subject will be brought into focus, and the image is taken.

Dual Cameras

Basically dual cameras has two camera modules. One with a larger sensor and other one with a low sensor(1 or 2 MP) . The larger camera capture the details and the other camera captures the depth information or light conditions or both. So you can edit your shot in a better way. Focus on any subject after taking the picture.

Which one is the best for selfies:

This section is because selfies have become more popular in these days. That’s why iphone selfies are better. Also HTC ULTRAPIXEL camera is also does a good job when it comes to selfies.
