How to choose best smartphone for your price point

Hello, today i am going to give you a some sort of buying guide for smartphones. Today there are lots of smartphones from different manufacturers. They provide various features. Some are very useful in daily situations and some are not! This guide will help you to get the most suitable smartphone for you according to your budget. So lets get started.

Filter out the features that you really want in your smartphone

Because of so many innovations, manufacturers tend to includes all their innovative thing to the smartphones. But the question is do we really need them to complete our daily tasks? For example Samsung Note 7 had underwater writing capabilities for its S pen, but who gonna do that king of thing? Also some phones provide 4K displays & Insane front cameras. Remember that human I can barely find a quality between 1080p(>400ppi) screen and 4K  screen unless it is Amoled or Oled. Also bigger amount of pixels doesn't mean that it is a good camera.(Even I phone 6 has a 8MP camera). So don't waste your money on unnecessary features. So what is necessary?

  • Having a fingerprint Sensor is great.
  • Go for a AMOLED or OLED display (Best displays in smartphones) if not, 1080P with 400ppi is OK.
  • Select a camera with a lower aperture with PDAF or LOF or both. You can see our camera phone buying guide from here.

Buy a phone which is compatible with future technologies

In here i am talking about Virtual reality, Augmented reality & NFC payments etc. These are the trending and more interesting technologies which will embedded to the smartphones in future. But in order to use these techs you have to have some unique sensors and hardware features in your smartphone. For virtual reality, you have to have Gyroscope sensor built in your smartphone. Most of budget and mid range phones have missed this feature. Also they wont mention in there spec sheets. The results is you will miss some awesome VR experiences in near future. NFC is also rapidly growing tech, NFC together with fingerprint scanner make more secure room  for payments (Eg: Apple Pay). So try to buy a NFC capable phone. Also some other features you have to have are:

  • Both 2 GHz and 5 GHz capability for WiFi (Not a must)
  • 4G connectivity
  • Expandable Storage capability (Compatibility for insert micro SD cards)
  • Dual speakers or Load and Clear sound system for better VR experience.(like HTC boom sound and dolby atmost)

Consider the build quality

Most of today's smartphones comes with plastic materials. This is an outdated fashion. we all love the build quality of Iphone because of its sleek metallic design. So try to buy a smartphone with a metallic or mixed finish. This helps to increase the durability of your smartphone. If you cannot have a phone with uni-body design or if you don't like it, try buy a phone which has a Matt plastic finish. This will help you to hold your phone easily and wont attract fingerprints.

Buy from a manufacturer which provide software updates frequently

Most of the manufacturers provide software updates  for 2 years from the release date of the device. But if you getting an issue with the software of the device, company should fix it with an OTA (over the air) update ASAP. Most of top manufacturers like Samsung, LG and Sony do this task correctly only for their flagship devices. So take a look on companies history on software updates.

Do not stick with popular brand names

Most of people buy phones just by looking at the brand name. Of course brand name has some kind of reputation. But if you are not going to buy the flagship of 2017, you must have to consider other phone manufacturers like Xiaomi, Meizu, Oneplus and Huawei. These Chinese manufactures provide very good mid range offerings for better price tags. Also Oneplus and Huawei provide better software update services. Oneplus 3 & 3T, Huawei p9, Xiaomi's note 4 and redmi series provide amazing specs for its price. Also porche design Huawei's mate 9 took the place of the Samsung's Note 7. Also remember that Nokia is also back.
