In previous days, if you wanted to install Ubuntu or other Linux based operating system, what you simply did was dual booting windows with Linux or installing Linux OS inside the Windows OS using a virtual machine. Both of above methods are somewhat difficult to do because of some side effects.

When dual booting windows with Linux

  • Windows 10's hibernating function tend to malfunctioning.
  • Overheating issues in PCs which has a separate graphics cards.
  • Windows takes too long to shut down
  • Boor loader malfunctions.

But we have created a full tutorial to avoid all of above issues and install windows 10 and Ubuntu. You can follow the tutorial from here.

Also when installing Linux inside Windows using a virtual machine, there are considerable issues like lagging the system, limited functionalities etc.

But now, if you wanna install Linux for bash or ssh commands, you can download the Ubuntu distribution from Windows Store and install it. But this version of Ubuntu distribution is sand-boxed inside windows, therefore the functions are limited. But you can have a hope of many more interesting features in future.

Also Windows distribution for Fedora and SUSE will also available in store soon. So try Ubuntu in windows and leave your experience in the comments section below.✌
