Hello. Oneplus 2 was the 2016 flagship killer from the Chinese Company Oneplus. As the name implies, this is the 2nd device of the company. It contains some great features for an Extremely low price point.

- 64 GB storage
- 13 MP main camera with Laser Autofocus and OIS
- 3300 mAh Battery
- Dual Sim with LTE connectivity
- Android M based Oxygen OS 3.5.8
But unfortunately OnPlus confirmed that there will be no further major updates for OnePlus 2. That means OnePlus won't get Oxygen OS 4 update. But there are plenty of Custom ROMs available for OnePlus 2, thanks to the developers. Most of them are official, that means they will receive updates without any delays. Also these ROMs have different features.
Resurrection Remix ROM is one of the Official ROM available for OnePlus 2. It has been built by combining the CynogenMod and AOSP (Android Open Source Project) features. Therefore it has almost complete set of features that we are expecting from a ROM. The official ROM 7.1.2 is available now. Lets begin to install.
Steps to Install as simple as follows:
- Install TWRP
- Install The ROM using TWRP
- Install the GAPPS via TWRP
- Reboot.
Lets talk about each step in detail.
Installing TWRP
TWRP ( Team Win Recovery Project ) is a 3rd part application which allows us to Install ROMs, Apps and other plugins like things to the system directly.You can follow below tutorial from "OnePlus Official Channel" to unlock the boot loader and install TWRP. All links to the files are in the video description.
Install ROM Using TWRP
This is the most critical stage of the project- Go to the link and download official Resurrection Remix ROM (Android 7.1.2) - Download
- Then download Open GAPPS - Download
(Note: When downlaoding GAPPS for OnePlus 2; please select specified bundle for your device. Select as following image)
- Then copy both downloads zip files to your phone storage. (Don't extract . Just copy)
- Now restart your device into recovery mode. (Turn off the device. Then press both power and Volume Down keys at the same time and hold until it boots )
- Then Go to Install and Select Resurrection Remix .zip file and install it.
- After that, again select Open Gapps .zip file and install
- Then Wipe Cache
- Finally press boot into system
Then Phone will start to boot. Note: 1st boot will take upto 5 minutes. But if it takes more than 5 minutes and stuck in boot animation, turn off the device by pressing power button and boot again. it will fix the issue.
Then configure your phone and start to use.
